PROJECT - Garden Sculpture

Image
Browsing a woodworking site I follow, I found the work of a maker whose garden sculptures were highlighted. This was the inspiration for my first p rototype garden sculpture. Made from hardwood recycled from a pallet and coloured acrylic. circles I bought on ebay. I've learnt a few things observing this "age" in the garden, so future versions will be a bit different. I've also got to get tools sorted out for drilling the circles - it can be a bit tedious. I'm planning to explore different sizes, styles and materials - including stained glass - over time.

PROJECT: Tide Clock

Image
I've wanted to make tide clocks fir a long time - my parents had one when they lived near the beach for a while. I bought a couple of tide clock movements at the time, but of course couldn't find them when I went looking. Temu to the rescue. This tide clock is made from pallet wood - which this time is pine. It's a one-off piece made for a friend's beach house, and the degree of paint washing is designed to match other furniture in the room. Another project was much more heavily coloured to fit in with a "Hamptons" decor. Tide movements are in stock so these can be made to order.

What is DesignISLES?
